Just a few miles past Ko' Olina resort the Wai' anae coast begins on Farrington Highway near the Hawaiian Electric company across from what the locals call Electric beach. Nanakuli is the first area you enter with a new shopping center being built in 2019 and new Community library offering weekly activities. The Mermaide caves nearby near Zabion Beach are popular. Visitors hike the WWII Pink Pill Box mountain trail for exercise and Sun Sets entering the trail from Kaukama St. On the way up the coast you will pass Pokai Bay Beach Park were the locals like to paddle board in the calm waters and and get personal instruction by Uncle George. Next is Maili Beach Park. Many sit under one of the Palm Trees that line the beach and enjoy the Sunset. As you venture along the coast with the ocean and mountains, you will pass the Boat Harbor that has tours such as swimming with the dolphins. It was a wonderful experience jumping in the Ocean and watching the Dolphins swim below. Enter Makaha Aki Beach accessed from Upena St for possible turtles basking in the sun. Just father up is Makaha Beach Park known for surfing. Ka 'ena Point State Park, is popular for hiking and has a bird sanctuary, the North West shore is on the other end. Kahumana Organic Farms & Cafe is worth a visit, as well as The Beach House (Live Music) located on Pililaau Army Recreation Center, and Country Side Cafe.
Wai' anae has wonderful Valleys, Wai'anae Mountain chain, Restaurants, Golf Course, and Community Activities.
